Kitty Monroee wants her fans to feel her music. Her presence on the mic has been fierce and strong. With the current music scene, Kitty Monroee feels that people expect and more from females when it never seems enough. Female artists, especially the spitters in the game, are more inclined with giving us turn up music. The people expect more fun than seriousness. Kitty explains that you have to give the people what they want until you are able to put your feet into the door. This effects how many ladies are treated with the stigma created for woman, especially black women.
Kitty Monroee have the opportunity to work with Dee Day, one of the hardest working producers/songwriters in New Orleans. With her latest single “Expresso”(Project Chick) Dee Day Beatz produced a song that should take Kitty’s music presence by storm. The song is a mixture of fun with a heavy twerking bounce flow. There is a feature from artist Dejavu 504 which brings the fluid New Orleans sound to the song. Kitty Monroee tapped into the culture of bounce. Making that trip to New Orleans seemed to have helped Kitty understand the true culture of its music. This has also allowed her to become versatile and yet still come with gritty rhymes and a flow.

Kitty Monroee’s message to fans as a black woman is to keep going. She was a victim to molestation to being raped at a very young age. She chooses to speak her truth and share her stories with others to help motivate power. “The light is at the end of the tunnel”, she states. Kitty shared her story about working with a very influential person in the music industry. This great opportunity turned sour due to being sexually assaulted by this person. This showed her that the trust in the industry is very slim. “This will either make you or brake you” she states. To share her story may help the next young lady to make the right decision in their life.
Having to create during the brink of the pandemic was hard for several artists. The ability to create during the toughest times shows how strong you are. As hard as it may get, the advantages are starting to show for Kitty Monroee.
Everything was at a standstill for Kitty. Now, as things progress, she has been able to grow and travel. It being her first time in New Orleans, shows that the universe is working in her favor. Allowing her to go places she never been before.
Kitty Monroee is just getting started and seems to be very humbled about it. Knowing her hard work and resilience will get her through it all. Expect a lot more from Kitty as she marks her territory in hip hop.
